Workshop Overview
Static postural assessments, isolated muscle balance and joint range of motion test assessments will not tell you how your clients/patients move
If we’re interested in helping our clients/patients move – then we need to accurately assess movement.
Static assessments will tell you about how a body holds itself in relation to gravity and may give some information about shortened or lengthened muscles. However these assessments don’t tell you about the “software” – the motor programmes that instruct the body to move.
Isolated muscle strength/length tests give information about the “hardware” of the body, but only about how muscles work in isolation, not how they work together in integrated movement.
